FitAI ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name via Firebase Authentication. You may also sign in with Google, in which case we receive your name and email from your Google account.

Health and fitness data: The app stores data you voluntarily enter, including:

• Food logs, calorie and macro tracking
• Weight entries
• Water intake
• Workout and exercise logs
• Dietary preferences, allergies, and health goals

AI interactions: When you use AI features (meal plans, food scanning, AI coach), your prompts and relevant context are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic Claude) via secure server-side Firebase Cloud Functions. We do not send your email or account credentials to the AI provider.

Payment information: Subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or payment details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and personalise the app experience (meal plans, calorie goals, progress tracking)
• To generate AI-powered nutrition advice and meal suggestions
• To sync your data across sessions via Firebase
• To manage your subscription status

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally on your device (Room database) and in Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure). All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. Firebase services comply with industry-standard security practices.

AI requests are processed via Firebase Cloud Functions and are not stored by our AI provider beyond the immediate request.

4. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Crashlytics) — Firebase Privacy Policy

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Upon account deletion, all personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your data
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

7. Children's Privacy

FitAI is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
